What is Long Nose?

The ideal length of a nose is known to be one third of whole face.

When the length between the eyebrows and nasal tip is

longer than that, it can be classified as a long nose.

Long nose with droopy nasal tip may look like

an arrow from side profile and may also have a hump on the bridge.

Causes of Long Nose and Surgical Methods

Suitable Surgical Method is Designed Based on The Cause

01.  Long Septum Cartilage

▶ Septum Plasty

Surgical method

Remove some part from the end of septum cartilage to reduce the size.

▶  Alar Cartilage Plasty

Surgical Method

Rotate the droopy nasal tip cartilage upward to reduce the length. Ear cartilage and septum cartilage may be applied for tip projection when necessary.

 02.  Droopy Alar Cartilage

The height of nasal bridge can be adjusted according to the projected nasal tip in process of shortening the nasal length.

Surgical Method

No need to touch the normal length of septum cartilage, yet just remove some of the alar cartilage to push up the droopy nasal tip.

Tip from April31 to prevent recurrence of Long Nose.

- Fix another autogenous cartilage on the tip to prevent it from getting shorter(upturned) or droopy again.
